60 Second Reads

60 second reads are short extracts most suited to P3 or P4 pupils and kS2 pupils.They aim to encourage accurate and fluent reading without overt sounding and blending, at a rate of 90 words per minute, Each 60 second read activity card features text with an average word count of 90 words.The cumulative word count for each line of text is shown in the left-hand margin of each card. Each of the cards also contains a set of comprehension questions.
