High Frequency Word Lists
Sun 26th April 2020
Here are the pink, red, yellow and blue high frequency word lists. It is best to ensure your child knows each word in their list before moving on to the next colour, for example, learn all pink words before moving onto the red list.
It is also important that children know their words in 'isolation'. This means that they should not just learn the words in the order they appear on the word lists. This could lead to the child learning their words similar to how they learn a song or rhyme, so they appear to 'know' them, but really they have learned the order of the words on the lists. To recognise the words in isolation, children should learn each word separately through cutting them up or writing them on separate pieces of paper.
