1 - Gníomhaíochta léitheoireachta/Reading activities
Your child’s reading book for this week will be in its usual folder further down Rang 2’s home learning page - ‘Scoobs’ ‘Smurfs’ and ‘Minions’. As usual, reading is to be done gach lá! Every day!
Look for the title of your child’s reading book this week and there you will find the given worksheet associated with the reading book. It is vital that your child reads their book with guidance (if needed) a few times before completing these activities.
Chuaigh- Write out 3 or more sentences beginning with the word ‘Chuaigh’ on a whiteboard or on a sheet of paper and draw a picture depicting one of the sentences.
Ar Scoil- Put a tick in the correct sentence and an x in the incorrect sentence. Under the picture, write out the correct sentence and colour in the picture or draw it along with the sentence on another page.
Is liom é- Look at the words below the picture and put them in the correct order. On another page, write out the sentence in the correct order and draw the picture.
2 - Mata meabhrach- Mental maths
Your child will need their whiteboard and marker for this activity. Watch and listen to this video to complete mental maths activities.
3 - Fónaic- Phonic activity
Again, your child will need their whiteboard and marker for this activity. Watch and listen to this video to complete phonic activities.
4 - Litearthacht- Literacy
b or d? Look in the box to the left and ask your child ‘An litir b? Nó an litir d? Look across to the other letters and make a circle with your finger around the correct letter. Your child could also do this activity on their whiteboard or on paper. When this is complete have your child practice drawing the letter b and d. Tá blog ag b- b has a belly. Tá droim ag d- d has a back. This is what we use in class to remember their shaping of b and d.
