(We continued with our learning about natural disasters this week, focusing on terrible weather that hit Ireland in recent years. The pupils were asked to watch videos explaining how hurricanes were formed. Then they were asked to do their own research on Storm Ophelia which battered the country during October 2017).

(A brilliant standard of work was produced again this week using a wide range of resources. I must commend everyone’s efforts especially those demonstrating super I.T. skills. Eoghan, Bláithín and Cormac did fantastic work using different programmes while Jack produced a very creative pamphlet. This week’s winners however are Warren and Cahir. Warren created a fantastic project that included internet and newspaper headlines and reports that were beautifully presented. Cahir linked his research to Hurricane Danielle which hit Ireland in 1961 and he spoke to two of his grandparents who both remembered the storm. Well done boys!
