We had a fantastic special guest author, Declan Carville, visit us recently. He spoke to our pupils about his books, the skills of writing, getting your ideas across, the importance of illustrations and what makes a good story.
He was very entertaining and inspired our pupils to be creative, coming up with their own characters, who could visit Nelly in his book titled, "Nelly Fandango". We also had to design and draw our character.
It was thrilling for the pupils to met a real author and we wish him continued success, especially as all his novels are Irish based and are very appealing to young readers.
