Double Hurling and Camogie Indoor Success - Fri 10 Feb 2017

Double Success for the Christian Brothers’.
The hurling team from the Christian Brothers’ Primary School made the short journey across to the Orchard Leisure Centre to participate in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Indoor Competition.  The Greenpark hurlers train every Monday afterschool under the guidance of Mr McWilliams.
In the competition the C.B.S. were competing against St Patrick’s Armagh, St. Malachy’s Armagh and St. Francis Lurgan.  The Christian Brothers’ boys hurled superbly throughout, winning all their games.  They now go forward to the all-county finals with a place in Ulster up for grabs.  Well done to all who competed.
Not to be outdone, the girls’ camogie team from the Christian Brothers’ have also qualified for the all-county finals.  The C.B.S. girls travelled to Keady to compete in their section of the competition.
The camogie was a tough event that featured Our Lady’s and St Mochua’s Derrynoose, St Francis of Assisi Keady, St John’s Middletown, Clea Primary School, St. Joseph’s Madden, St. Mary’s Granemore and Darkley Primary School.  The Greenpark girls were delighted when they overcame Keady after extra-time in the final to join the boys in the finals.  All their hard work on a Tuesday after school has definitely paid off.
It has been a superb year so far on the sporting field for the C.B.S. with their footballers, girls and boys, also winning their respective events so the school will be competing in Co. Armagh Finals in all four codes.
